"It was a deplorable situation," Oakland County Prosecutor David Gorcyca said. "This is a great day for the city and this will be a great savings to the city." The new land owner, Morningside Equities Group of Chicago, will build six stories of upscale condominiums called SkyLofts MarketSquare at the site, adding $545,000 a year in revenue to the tax rolls.
