offer new construction luxury loft residences. Downtown Royal Oak
is looking forward to this new 88-unit condominium development called SkyLofts
MarketSquare, which replaces the Select Inn, said Ed Anderson, Chairman
of the Plan Commission. This new project, across from Royal Oaks Farmers
Market, will bring more residences into our thriving downtown and benefit downtown
retailers who provide services for these new residents. Royal Oak is once again
happy to welcome back David Strosberg of Morningside Group, the developer of SkyLofts
Royal Oak and Main Place of Royal Oak. The Royal Oak Plan Commission looks forward
to working with Morningside on this most needed area improvement. Morningsides
SkyLofts MarketSquare project will help the neighborhood realize its full potential...
The new loft community touts a superior location with the benefits of a peaceful
residential neighborhood only three blocks from all of the conveniences and excitement
downtown Royal Oak has to offer. David Strosberg, president of Morningside
Group, made the announcement. Morningside Group is extremely pleased to
continue its successful relationship with the City of Royal Oak, and we look forward
to making another contribution to the redevelopment of downtown. Schultz
added, We are very happy with the unanimous approval, and pleased that the
city supports the project. We intend to move ahead quickly. Construction is scheduled
to begin this spring and add another strong residential base to the downtown. The
avant-garde magazine, Utne Reader, listed Royal Oak as one of the nations
10 Most Enlightened Suburbs in their April 2003 issue. The magazine stated that
Royal Oak stands out among cities such as Delray Beach, Fla. (Palm Beach), Naperville,
Ill. (Chicago), and Burlingame/San Mateo, Calif. (Bay area) as an enlightened
suburb. Suburbs are often stereotyped as selfish and soulless, but the communities
highlighted here could teach towns everywhere a thing or two about civic spirit
and livability, but take a look at Royal Oak a suburbohemia filled with
ethnic restaurants, sidewalk cafes, art galleries, theaters, a farmers market
and some of the Motor Citys best live music. SkyLofts MarketSquare
is the only loft-style community in Royal Oak, offering high-end residences with
hard-to-find amenities such as indoor, heated parking; individual storage lockers;
and a bicycle storage room. Spacious private balconies, wrap-around balconies
or oversized terraces, gourmet kitchens, and hardwood floors are just a few of
the extraordinary amenities SkyLofts MarketSquare offers. Open floor plans with
angled walls create an avant-garde structure unmatched in other area developments.
Additionally, the six-story residence provides panoramic views from downtown Royal
Oak to downtown Detroit, and from the Southfield Town Centers to the business
district in Troy. Other amenities include incredible master suites with
dressing rooms and extravagantly appointed baths, with plenty of opportunities
to customize for an individualized showplace. A state-of-the-art fitness center
and premium secured-entry telephone system with cable RV monitoring ensure that
every aspect of residents sophisticated sensibilities are applied. When
we built SkyLofts Royal Oak, we discovered the huge demand for loft-living with
upscale amenities in Royal Oak, said Schultz. SkyLofts MarketSquare
will answer that demand with more spacious, bright and airy residences, including
10-foot-high ceilings and 8-foot-tall windows. SkyLofts MarketSquare,
which is set for completion late summer 2005, will feature pre-construction pricing
from the mid $200,000s to the mid $500,000s beginning April 30 at its grand opening.
From then on, the information center and model will be open daily ... or by appointment.
